Update on Economic Stimulus Work for 2009-10

Many of you registered interest in work being undertaken by Housing New Zealand Corporation as part of the Government's Economic Stimulus Package.

Here's how the programme for the next twelve months i.e. through to 30 June 2010 is going to work.

As most of the work will be upgrade interventions not requiring building consent, we recently appointed Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner (Beca), as project management consultants to assist us to deliver the programme. Beca's recently commenced advertising for tenders on http://www.gets.govt.nz/ for regionally based contractors to deliver the work. If the work being advertised is within your organisations capability, we suggest you provide the information requested in the GETS advertisements to Beca's for your region.

A number of you also responded to GETS and to newspaper advertisements for professional services for various programmes and Energy Efficiency Retrofits and Heat Pump installations. Appointments for these opportunities have also recently been made.

Thank you for your interest and if work of this nature is aligned with the capabilities of your business we encourage you to register your interest.
