A large part of our annual budget goes on redeveloping the existing state house portfolio, and developing new housing in areas of highest demand.
New Zealand's state houses are a mix of older and more recently built homes. We invest in redeveloping our portfolio to better meet the housing needs of our tenants.
In this section you'll see how we both redevelop the existing portfolio and develop new housing. The redevelopment programme is primarily in Auckland, but also in other major centres.
The development programme involves large greenfield sites, such as the Papakura development, as well as smaller parcels of land bought specifically for the development programme.
This section explains how we work with others on social housing projects, and how people in the building, design and construction industries can get involved.
