Lending on multiple owned Māori land
Housing New Zealand no longer receives funding to provide Papakāinga lending. This took effect from 1 July 2009.
Housing New Zealand is developing an alternative product to allow customers to buy, build and re-locate homes on multiple owned Māori land. This is likely to be available later in the year. All new information will be posted on this web page, so please check later this year.
To be eligible for a loan on multiple owned Māori land, you will need to meet specific lending criteria and have the agreement of all land owners, or trustees, if the land is administered by a trust.
