Research and Policy

Housing research & evaluation - overview

Housing New Zealand's research and evaluation team supports our role of providing policy advice to the Minister of Housing.

The team also runs a strategically focused research and evaluation programme. This informs policy development, service delivery and operational activities.

Research is an integral part of the process when developing housing policy and programmes.

As well as undertaking research that is directly related to the effectiveness of Housing New Zealand's programmes, we research trends in the wider housing sector.

In this section you can read some of our current research reports.

Up until 2005 we produced quarterly Housing Market Research Reports. These have been replaced by a National Housing Market Report provided by the Department of Building and Housing.
